Treating cat cancer with traditional Chinese medicine
One of the foundations of traditional Chinese medicine is to consider the body and the mind as a whole, as well as their interdependence. It is often used in addition to conventional medicine and many use it for disease prevention.
This holistic approach uses different tools, such as acupuncture, nutrition and herbal remedies, to help the body maintain or regain good overall health.
This alternative medicine is based on different theories, namely energy balance, the use of meridians and the harmonious relationship between the different elements, and the balance between Yin and Yang.
Meridians and acupuncture points
Acupuncture points are distributed throughout the body along meridians, or energy trajectories. The National Library of Medicine has published an article which reports that certain acupuncture points can help relieve the side effects of chemotherapy. They can also stimulate a sick animal's appetite, as well as relieve nausea.
It’s important to consult a vet specialized in acupuncture to find out if acupuncture is appropriate for your cat.
In many cases of cancer, these energetic releases may not be advisable, mainly when there is a risk of spread (i.e. metastasis).
The different elements and nutrition in traditional Chinese medicine
To help someone that is sick maintain good health with traditional Chinese medicine, one must take into account the harmony between the five elements, also called the five movements.
Each element is associated with one or more organs. For example, fire represents the heart and water represents the kidneys. There is also wood, metal and earth.
To promote the health of your cat with cancer using Chinese medicine, you will need to pay attention to its diet. The balance between the two opposing forces of Yin and Yang is essential for achieving good health.
A vet specializing in Chinese medicine will be able to guide you in selecting an appropriate diet for your cat, according to its energy balance.
Foods are characterized by their nature (hot, neutral, warm or cold) and their flavor (bitter, spicy, salty, sweet, sour). Depending on the organs affected by the disease, the vet will recommend specific foods to try to restore the balance of your cat’s vital energy.
Nutrition for a cat with cancer
Nutrition in itself is a holistic treatment approach for your cat's cancer.
Whether it’s mouth cancer, lung cancer or liver cancer, eating a good diet appropriate to your pet’s unique needs will strengthen its immune system and help them maintain good muscle mass.
Several diets exist and some are more appropriate than others for a cat suffering from cancer. For example, a diet a little higher in protein could help a sick cat retain its muscle mass.
Your vet can guide you in choosing the ideal type of diet for your kitty cat, following a physical examination and according to the results of various diagnostic tests.
Treat cat cancer with herbal remedies
Herbal remedies can be great allies in treating cat cancer. They are the perfect complements to medical treatments offered by your vet.
Herbal remedies can be of great help in relieving some symptoms, such as nausea and inflammation.
These plants can even be found as an active ingredient in some pharmacy drugs!
Curcumin
Curcumin is one of the natural remedies that cats can benefit from.
Although there are no scientific studies to prove it, this molecule found in turmeric has the ability to slow the growth of certain cancers, in addition to having other incredible virtues.
Ginger
The well-known ginger is a valuable tool in controlling nausea. As nausea is a frequent side effect of conventional cancer treatments, it can be considered a great asset in the event of illness.
Some even attribute anti-cancer qualities to it and recognize its ability to shrink tumors!
Care should be taken to check the toxicity of the plants you want to use, as some can be harmful to your cat. It is therefore important to ask your holistic vet if your cat's condition allows the use of the desired herbs and for their dosage and method of administration.
Homeopathic solutions for cat with cancer
Another way to naturally support your sick cat's system is to use homeopathic products.
Many use them as a supplement to traditional medicine. They help maintain the proper functioning of the animal's body.

We’ve sent you an email as a follow-up! Please check your email so that we can help you further.
One of my cats (12 year old male) was just diagnosed with nasal cancer. According to the vet, surgery, radiation/chemo typically have a poor prognosis with this type of cancer in cats. I checked the veterinary journals (I am a biologist) and the consensus is a typically poor outcome for surgery/radiation/chemo, so the goal is to keep my beloved cat as comfortable as long as possible. I am hoping your product, PiptoPet will help.
Hi Umair, devastating news indeed😢 Thank you for reaching out. We will send you an email ASAP to get started on a personalized recommendation for your sweet girl.
My 13 year old Edie had a mass removed from her lower abdomen 2 weeks ago. Received the devastating news that it was Sarcoma, and had already metastasised to her lung. Desperate to try anything for her that will help, she also has a paralysed paw from a blood clot but is otherwise pain free and happy. I have already started her on Noni juice as I’ve heard good things about it. She’s also on Clopidogrel and Prednisalone
